Yessi, UKRG Radio is moving to a new site...

The current site you are using is hosted by "Grou.ps" and they have recently started to charge for this service. So we at UKRG have created a brand new "Facebook" style website just for our members to come and enjoy. This should be the final time that we move this social network site as it will now be totally hosted and controlled by UKRG.

The new site has all the basics required but we will be adding new features over the coming months and please feel free to suggest features you would like to see on the new site.

The new site is now open and live, please find it HERE

Also be aware, this current grou.ps owned site will be closing in a few months, so get yourself over to the new site and register, then simply use that site from now on....

London Ska FestivalFirstly let me apologise for there not being any updates to our site over this past few months, what with Christmas and my PC being very ill, I've just not had the time to update the site. However, we have a stormer for you this month...

This month we are running a special on the up coming "London International Ska Festival 2011" with all the lowdown and info on what is going to be an awesome few days. In line with this event we have a review from one of the featured artists Maroon Town with the debut album "Urban Myths".

We also have reviews this month of the awesome "Apple Gabriel – Teach Them Right" which is just a MUST HAVE album plus a review of "Joshua Alo – Orchid Unknown" which is yet another awesome recording.

Our FREE TO DOWNLOAD "UKRG Presents Vol 1" CD is still available to download and listen... with Vol 2 already in the making....

Long time UKRG member and artist/DJ "Badda Skat" has also started his weekly Sunday afternoon slot on our UKRG Radio, so don't forget to check his show for some chilling choons..

Yessi, I have updated the site this month but I wanted to keep the image of our brilliant FREE to download album "UKRG Presents Vol1" on the front page just in case you haven't downloaded it yet as it our Christmas present to you all, so if you haven't got your hands on it yet, just click on the image and follow the download link.

As far as new content goes this month, it's a little quiet as we are doing loads of things behind the scene ready for the new year and our staff haven't had that much time to write new stuff. However, we do have JumpUp's reviews of "The Big Chill Festival" and the awesome album from Chezidek called "Judgment Time", so check them reviews now..

Talking of UKRG Radio, some of you may of noticed a few technical issues with the social network site, we are sorry for these issues and we are working hard of getting things sorted and have something nice coming early next year. For the moment, just keep with us and be patient.

This song is our reaction to the anual insanity which catches our home town when the nuclear transport comes in autum time. 15,000 police forces, this means 15,000 weappons in our town, ongoing identification controling, if you’re causing suspect. “If you see the police man a come warn a brother.”

There is a public voting in combination with the contest where the winners have the chance to get 10 free t-shirts, we would apprecilove your support by voting for “droegenbwoys”.

Greets all,

I've just spent the last 48 hours reformatting and reinstalling Windows and all my apps after getting a virus that basically killed my machine. The virus came in via a Java app on a website and this is now becoming quite a common thing as I have heard plenty of people over this past few months say the same thing with very similar viruses. Many of these people never go to or do any dodgy downloading, their problems started with apps that are found on fairly safe sites such as Facebook. Even if you are using a good safe browser such as Firefox, there is a flaw within the Java system that allows unwanted stuff to be downloaded and then run on your system without you knowing about it or even clicking on anything.

Because of this flaw, UKRG has removed anything relating to Java from our website and I would suggest to all our members that you uninstall Java Runscript from your PC and avoid any plugins or apps on website's that use Java. There are a few dangerous viruses going around at the moment that basically rip out Windows Explorer from your system and when that happens, you can't run or do anything and some even make it very hard to back up your data before you have to reformat.

As anyone who knows me will tell you, I am very paranoid about where I go and what I do on the internet but this one got into my system without me clicking on anything dodgy and my AV picked it up but after the damage had been done...

Be safe out there - there plenty of evil people around.... DOWN WITH BABYLON!!!

Greetings from UK Reggae Guide
I am writing to you to offer the opportunity to dj a live Friday night special as part of our
ongoing commitment to roots & dub music.

Friday night is the slot we leave open for such specials to happen, featuring different dj,s and soundsystems from around the globe, this is  a good way of promotion for up & coming dances, new material, and helps reach a wider audience.
This is an ongoing opportunity and we hope to feature many of you over the coming year.

If you feel you are interested in doing a Friday special, please get back to me to discuss details further (time, promotion, software for streaming etc)

Uk Reggae Guide Radio is a station dedicated to the movement of conscious and righteous vibes.

If  a Friday  special is not something you can do, but feel you could contribute to the station in other ways, such as jingles, music, or tickets to give away in competitions please get in touch, we would love to hear from you.

Give thanks

Greetings all, I am currently compiling a database of important contacts for UKRG Radio.
I am asking if members can pass on their email address to me to add to this database.
The reason for this is to keep you all updated on any radio related news, happenings, promos etc.
Why not mass mail from grou.ps you ask?
This is because the database will also include non UKRG members such as labels, soundsystems, promoters.

Everything is in the strictest of confidence and will be used only for the above mentioned purpose.

please email your details to digikal.roots@ukreggaeguide.co.uk
